- New bunkering at 18th hole.
- Variety of new indigenous planting, new tees and tee re-alignment.
- New bunkering at hole 14.
- New fairway and greenside bunkers at hole 3.
- Removal of vegetation to open up views at green 14.
- Improvements to bunkers and surrounds at green 8.
Following an extensive course design appraisal in 2006 Kirkintilloch GC commenced a programme of course design improvements in 2008. This mainly includes bunker renovation but other improvements such as drainage and tree removal will be carried out over the coming years. The aim is to have all the bunker renovations completed by 2018.
